The only bad thing about this place is the SLOW service. You will wait 20 minutes to order a drink, 20 more minutes to order your food, food comes quick, waitress comes by 3 minutes later and then you will never see her ever again. The food and atmosphere were great!! They need to hire more wait staff, or better wait staff, or both. We almost walked out before even ordering and almost forced us to dine and dash because she never came back!

First time at El Mar.
In reviewing the menu the prices are reasonable.
I sat at the bar watching the bartender make me a strawberry Paloma while waiting for my to go order.
The strawberries were frozen hard, pulled out of freezer, the bartender did not use gloves while handling them. She just took pieces of this frozen ball. The drink was very watered down. I did not taste any alcohol.
It took a little longer then expected, but for seafood, it was ok to wait. I was very excited because I enjoy eating Mojara.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was good. The bar was nice.
The Mojara plate I ordered.....the Mojara was just a fried whole fish. No flavor. Oh wait, the flavor.....grease. No garlic. No salt, no nothing, just Bla.
The fries were soggy. The salad was fresh and crispy. The white/beige colored rice with one or two bits of carrots had no flavor.
The pictures on the menu looked great, but the Mojara was not good.

If you want to come eat at a very loud place come here 😁 this is definitely your spot 😂 not only did we wait 1hr to be seated but we really wanted to try the ceviche our co-workers spoke about and the chicharon fish. It was very loud, the live music was nice. Being ignored by your waiter was horrible. I do not know if that is typical here on a Friday afternoon but it was super crowded. The food was okay not what I expected for a restaurant that serves fresh sea food? I was about disappointed with the food and service, and when you ask for chips and salsa they give you some tostada's in a zippy bag that have been used over and over again. But definitely do not come on Friday afternoon unless you want to be ignored, wait over an hour to sit and like loud music.

Everything i have had here has been good.
I mainly go for the spicy Pulpo and the seafood device. Only issues have been getting salsa that is spicy enough.

Great place, nice decor inside and the food is pretty great. Even though they are a sea food place they do have several options without sea food (like fajitas, and they are delicious). The seafood choices are incredible and really really good. They do serve alcohol but only limited to beer (bottle) and frozen margaritas, at least for now they are missing a bartender. The prices are a bit high but considering that everything is expensive now days and that they serve sea food they are not that bad.
